DAVID ARNASUNGAAQ (ETTOOLOOKUTNA; IKTULUKA'NAAQ) Born: December 31, 1964 Male E2-807 Resides: Baker Lake Sculpture, Drawings, Jewellery David Arnasungaaq was born on December 31, 1964. His is the son of the renowned Baker Lake sculptor Barnabus Arnasungaaq. His mother Fanny and his brother Norman are also artists. David mostly carves and makes drawings, but also makes jewellery once in a while. His sculptural style has been greatly influenced by his father. He carves in basalt, a very hard volcanic rock found locally. David's favourite subject matter are people, and he portrays them in broad masses, with few incised details. This delineation of form has considerable emotional power and is typical for the art of Keewatin Region.
