Sedna with Kudlik / Sedna holding a kudlik with raised arms (Sculpture)

Sedna kneels with arms raised, holding a kudlik / qulliq- the traditional Inuit oil lamp that provides warmth, light, and nourishment. Beyond its practical function, the qulliq embodies continuity and connection to ancestors, it has long been lit during ceremonies and gatherings to.sustain both physical life and communal spirit. As guardian of the sea and provider of life's resources, she becomes a bearer of both spiritual and material sustenance. The lamp's flame symbolises relience across generations, illuminating the delicate balance between humanity and the living world. Through the posture of offering and care, the work honours the quiet acts that uphold culture, community and aurvival in the Arctic environment.
